Know the windows.
Plan the work before them.
These dates do different jobs. A typical window helps you plan; only the applicable official call sets your deadline.

UNEDasiss annual service window
The provider lists accreditation applications from 4 February to 1 December. This is not a university application deadline.
Carolina 2026 postgraduate call

Spring and summer admissions

More than one way
to fund your studies.
Fundación Carolina postgraduate scholarships
Coverage differs by programme; awards may combine tuition contributions and other support. Eligibility is geographically restricted.
Your next action: Read the nationality, residence, qualification and participating-course rules before preparing an application.
Check the official source ↗la Caixa doctoral fellowships
Competitive doctoral routes include opportunities linked to research institutions in Spain and Portugal. Conditions differ between programmes.
Your next action: Select the relevant fellowship, eligible host and mobility conditions; do not assume every Spanish doctorate is included.
Check the official source ↗University and faculty awards
Fee assistance, merit awards and research funding are institution- or faculty-specific.
Your next action: Open the exact course’s funding page and ask whether international entrants qualify before counting an award in your budget.
Check the official source ↗Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters
Some international consortia include study in Spain; full scholarships are competitive and separate from self-funded places.
Your next action: Apply to the consortium and check the actual mobility itinerary, eligible degree and scholarship deadline.

The documents. The details.
Programme price
Record the international-applicant tuition for your exact programme, the number of credits and any application or reservation fees.
Regional differences
Look up the admission authority and fee rules for your chosen university and region; a fee quoted for one public institution is not a national promise.
Arrival reserve
Keep accommodation deposits, translations, travel, insurance and immigration costs separate from tuition. Use the competent consulate’s current financial-evidence rules.
Your starting document checklist
Use this to organise the file; the provider’s current requirements determine the final list.
- Passport and school or degree certificates, with complete transcripts.
- UNEDasiss or other credential documents only where the receiving route requires them.
- Evidence of required subject tests, including PCE where applicable.
- Accepted Spanish, English or other programme-language evidence.
- CV, motivation statement and academic references for courses that request them.
- Certified translations and legalisation or apostille where the receiving authority requires them.
- Offer, payment or funding evidence, insurance and consular documents for the appropriate immigration route.

One clear step
at a time.
Use the checklist to keep your own place. These are preparation milestones, not a substitute for official approval.
Choose a degree and a language you can complete
Create separate lists for bachelor’s, taught master’s and research degrees. For each course, record the actual teaching language, entry qualification, subject requirements and assessment format. Do not infer English delivery from an English-language marketing page.
Compare your previous modules with the course requirements before prioritising a scholarship. A strong plan should explain what you will learn, why your preparation is suitable and how the qualification supports a realistic next step. Keep at least one financially workable alternative that does not depend on winning the most competitive award.

Resolve the credential route before registration
Check how the receiving university assesses your school-leaving or university qualification. UNEDasiss may be part of the undergraduate route, but the services and subject tests required depend on the destination institution. An accreditation is not itself a university offer.
Make a checklist of the exact evidence requested, including any recognition decision, translations and subject weighting. Ask the admissions team a focused question when your qualification does not fit the published examples. Keep their answer with your application file instead of relying on a general country rule.

Build a calendar with separate deadlines
Use separate rows for credential assessment, tests, university pre-enrolment and scholarship applications. Record local time zones and whether the deadline concerns payment, document receipt or the final online submission.
An open accreditation service does not mean your intended degree is still accepting applications. Work backwards from the earliest binding requirement and set your own completion date well before it. When a future intake has not been announced, keep it marked as a planning window rather than copying a previous year’s date.

Target funding that accepts your profile
Check the nationality and residence conditions before drafting scholarship essays. Fundación Carolina is not a universal scholarship for every international applicant, and its programmes do not all offer the same financial package. A doctoral fellowship has its own host, mobility and research requirements.
Write down what each award pays, for how long and whether you must secure admission first. For a regional or university grant, find the actual call rather than assuming international students qualify for local student aid. Prioritise a small number of defensible applications over a large list of ineligible awards.

Prepare an application that is consistent across portals
Create a master record of your name, dates, qualifications and grading scale. Use this to check every application and translation. Tailor the statement to the programme rather than changing facts between scholarship forms.
For research, connect a specific question to the methods and expertise available at the proposed host. Ask referees early and explain which system will contact them. Review your uploaded PDFs at ordinary reading size, keep the original documents, and save the official instructions with the final version you submit.

Submit to the correct admissions system
Follow the receiving programme’s own application link. Check whether a regional pre-enrolment system, university portal or postgraduate department handles the decision. Do not assume completing one supporting process automatically enters you into another.
Before pressing submit, compare your choices and uploads with your tracker. Save the reference number, receipts and confirmation email. Reopen the portal afterwards to verify that the file is complete and that no reference, fee or document remains outstanding. Monitor the official results and acceptance deadlines.

Compare the offer with the funding decision
Read the course, start date, language conditions, deposit terms and acceptance deadline in the actual offer. Compare these with the award letter: a fee contribution may still leave significant tuition and living costs.
Ask for written clarification when a conditional offer, fellowship nomination or host invitation is being confused with a final place. Build a cash-flow plan for the period before any award payment arrives. Do not cancel alternatives until the conditions that matter to you have been resolved.

Use the immigration route for your actual purpose
Find the Spanish mission responsible for your place of legal residence and follow its current instructions. Long-term study and certain doctoral or research appointments may require different routes. The linked consular page is a starting point, not a substitute for your own mission’s checklist.
Prepare admission or hosting evidence, insurance and financial documents in the required form. Check translation, appointment and legalisation requirements before purchasing non-refundable travel. Academic admission does not replace immigration permission; personalised immigration advice should come from the relevant authority or an authorised professional.

Arrive with an enrolment and registration plan
Ask the university for the final enrolment checklist, original-document inspection arrangements and orientation dates. Keep digital and paper copies of your offer, accommodation details, funding letter and insurance accessible during travel.
Check any local registration and residence-card steps that apply to your permission and length of stay. Record scholarship renewal or progress conditions at the start of the semester. Use the international office to resolve course registration and student-support questions rather than leaving administrative conditions until a deadline has passed.

Questions worth asking.
Is UNEDasiss the same as applying to a university?
No. It provides assessment services used by participating admission routes. You must still complete the receiving university or regional application.
Are all Spanish scholarships fully funded?
No. Coverage ranges from fee contributions to wider doctoral packages. Verify the actual award and the duration of support.
Can I use last year’s scholarship date?
Use it only as a planning reference. A future competition needs its own official announcement and deadline.
